Welcome to K-Peritia, COST CA22101 (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) funded Action. Our groundbreaking network, led by Livia Holden (Chair of K-Peritia), connects junior experts in court expertise, legal professionals exploring cultural expertise, seasoned scholars with experience in expert witnessing, and representatives from leading international organisations, NGOs, and capacity-building institutions. Together, we aim to foster innovation, collaboration, and excellence in the field of cultural expertise and inclusive justice.

At K-Peritia, our mission is powered by the collaborative efforts of four dedicated working groups, each addressing a distinct facet of our Action:

1. WG 1 Theory led by Ana Oliveira and Dina Hadad: Developing and refining the conceptual frameworks of cultural expertise, strengthening its foundation for interdisciplinary collaboration and exploring emerging fields.

2. WG 2 Technology led by Gökçe Nur Yılmaz and Sameer Rashid Bhat: Articulating data-driven use cases and technology pitch to demonstrate the accessibility and practical application of cultural expertise technology in legal and professional contexts.

3. WG 3 Professionalisation led by Mónika Nogel and Noelle Higgins: Empowering experts with tailored skills, training programs, and resources to excel in their fields, while upholding the highest standards of excellence and credibility.

4. WG 4 Communication led by Oya Aydin and Gayathree Devi Kalliyat Thazhathuveetil: Closing the gap between academia, practitioners, and policy-makers by disseminating cultural expertise policies to stakeholders and advocating effectively at the policy level.

These working groups collectively enable K-Peritia to tackle complex challenges and drive innovation in advancing cultural expertise, focusing on three key pillars: Building an Inclusive International Network, Empowering Junior Experts, and Digitalising Cultural Expertise.

Our deliverables at K-Peritia include:

Cultural Expertise Digital Network: An interdisciplinary network of experts, legal professionals, and global stakeholders.

Accreditation System: Establishing standards and credentials for cultural expertise.

Training and Capacity Building: Equipping professionals with essential skills and resources to excel in cultural expertise.

Publication on Cultural Expertise: Authoritative work in a variety of formats addressing cultural expertise, dispute resolution, and the claim of rights for diverse audiences.

Policy-Making Guidelines: Practical recommendations to integrate cultural expertise into policy frameworks.
